Although my shoe size is 11D, which should correspond to sock size L (large) according to the size guidelines, I find that most of my socks shrink somewhat after washing, and they are then somewhat tight. I therefore purchased this SmartWool sock in size XL, which fits perfectly. It's extremely comfortable and is neither too large nor too small. Since the sock stretches, it would be ok for men with larger shoe sizes than mine as well.
